About Carter Chiropractic and Physical Therapy
Carter Chiropractic and Physical Therapy is a small, family owned chiropractic care office specializing in a whole-health approach. We carefully examine all facets of each individual's health and circumstances to provide a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan.
Our compassionate, personal approach to patient care is recognized and appreciated by our patients as being unique in today's fast-paced, modern society. Our patients are like family members, and as such, their health is our number one concern. It is our goal to ensure that our whole family is happy, healthy, and pain-free so that every member can enjoy their best health for life.

"Dr. Shae" grew up in Davenport, IA right on the banks of the famous Mississippi River. In 2005 she graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, which is highly regarded as having one of the best chiropractic programs in the world.
Dr. Shae is the proud dog-mom of a rescue animal and is a fierce advocate for animal rights.
Her grandfather, J.D. Carter, is also a Chiropractor and is a 1967 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic.
The chiropractic philosophy is something Dr. Shae grew up with and was exposed to her entire life. Chiropractic care and helping people are two of her most passionate causes. .
Dr. J.D. Carter is originally from Evening Shade, Arkansas. He moved to Davenport, Iowa with his wife, Marian, to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduated from Palmer as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1967.
Dr. Carter is now retired but has always exemplified the chiropractic philosophy of better living through better health.
He has four daughters, nine grandchildren, and lots of great-grandchildren. He enjoys woodworking, and spending time with friends and family and he is very proud to let his name carry on with the family business.
